Just Married!!!

It’s official we are now a husband and wife team!! From the day Steve came along, I was never the same, and neither was Silver Thumb Photography! I wanted to share a few favorites from OUR wedding last month! Our friends Abby & Tommy of Abby Rose Photo did a fabulous job of documenting our day! The beautiful and talented Sue from Passionflower was our florist.. I couldn’t believe how gorgeous the flowers looked and smelled! And Alison and Bryan of Viva la Diva completely rocked it with the lights and so much more. The ceremony was the first in the Kerrytown Courtyard and reception was at Zingerman’s Events on 4th. . So, needless to say, the food was so delicious.

Steve and I have both agreed that it was literally the best weekend of our lives. So much LOVE floating around us! Now I know how my brides feel!!

Sweetest thank you card ever!

Seeing couples through the process of designing their wedding album and then seeing how happy they are looking through it for the first time is such a rewarding experience. It always reminds me of how much I love my job!! But, it’s always a little sad too because it means that it will probably be a while before we see them again! Yesterday one of my favorite couples picked up their gorgeous new wedding album and brought me the sweetest card and I just had to share. They made some beautiful cards with their engagement and wedding pictures! Thanks again Melissa & Andrew! We just loved being a part of your wedding!

Introducing Steve!

I wanted to formally introduce someone very special.  As a lot of you already know Steve (aka my other half)  was a HUGE part of Silver Thumb over the last year. It was an awesome year to say the least. We joke that he is my pack mule but he is a really talented photographer too. : )

Here’s us in action/testing light etc. this past year..

And Steve says …

This has been the most unbelievable year of my life! First, I met Tam… an incredible photographer with the most creative eye I’ve ever seen. Second, I started a new career that I absolutely love! I never knew photography could be so fulfilling.  Lastly, I grew a beard!!! (If you saw my attempt 10 years ago… you’d know this is a big deal.)

Just to give you a glimpse of my background… about 11 years ago my sister was pregnant with her first child and I thought it would be fun to document the end of her pregnancy and the first few years of my nieces life. I went out and bought a video camera and some editing software and 3 years later I had a 30 minute video documenting unforgettable moments  of this new family. While I sat there watching them cry while watching this video, it hit me… THIS is what I need to do forever! So I went to school and then started working for myself. Well, fast-forward a few years and here comes Tamara Wade to show me how beautiful photography can be. I still love videography but capturing images for people on their most precious day is truly something I can see doing forever.

I have to thank all of the brides and grooms from 2011 for such an amazing year. I learned so much and can’t wait for this season to start!

Stay Tuned for more big news!!
