Brittany & Mike :: Featured!!!
Megan & Erik :: Detroit, MI
Steve and I were SO looking forward to this first wedding of the year! It was beautiful!!! Megan was absolutely breathtaking! Since Megan & Erik live and spend most of their time in the city of Detroit, it was only appropriate to get married there too! The ceremony was at St Aloysius … So pretty! And reception was at the DYC on Belle Isle. Congrats you two! We wish you all the happiness you can handle!! : )
This wedding was also our first and last wedding that Steve and I shot while we were engaged! We’ll be shooting all of our weddings from here on out as a husband and wife team! Yay for marriage!
Introducing Steve!
I wanted to formally introduce someone very special. As a lot of you already know Steve (aka my other half) was a HUGE part of Silver Thumb over the last year. It was an awesome year to say the least. We joke that he is my pack mule but he is a really talented photographer too. : )
Here’s us in action/testing light etc. this past year..
This has been the most unbelievable year of my life! First, I met Tam… an incredible photographer with the most creative eye I’ve ever seen. Second, I started a new career that I absolutely love! I never knew photography could be so fulfilling. Lastly, I grew a beard!!! (If you saw my attempt 10 years ago… you’d know this is a big deal.)
Just to give you a glimpse of my background… about 11 years ago my sister was pregnant with her first child and I thought it would be fun to document the end of her pregnancy and the first few years of my nieces life. I went out and bought a video camera and some editing software and 3 years later I had a 30 minute video documenting unforgettable moments of this new family. While I sat there watching them cry while watching this video, it hit me… THIS is what I need to do forever! So I went to school and then started working for myself. Well, fast-forward a few years and here comes Tamara Wade to show me how beautiful photography can be. I still love videography but capturing images for people on their most precious day is truly something I can see doing forever.
I have to thank all of the brides and grooms from 2011 for such an amazing year. I learned so much and can’t wait for this season to start!
Stay Tuned for more big news!!
